Grooming the Wire Fox Terrier can be a little tricky. To retain the natural color and texture of the coat, the only appropriate grooming method is handstripping, a lenghty process that is not mastered by all groomers. When clipped, the Wire's coat will turn soft and its colours will lighten. The clipped coat also mats and gets dirty and wet more easily. Although it all comes down to personal preference, we strongly recommend that you consider having your Wire Fox Terrier properly handstripped by a knowledgeable groomer, or even better, that you learn to do it yourself !
